RX/PMI: Integrated WITH
leading EHR systems

Why we started RX/PMI
IT’S PERSONAL

Prescription Medication Information (“PMI”) documents are not real-time or complete, and response times from physicians can take 24 hours or longer.
Meanwhile, TeleMed prescriptions (used by approximately 50% of all US patients) aren’t even recorded by EHR platforms used by physicians and in healthcare facilities.
Most of us don’t think about potential conflicts using prescription drugs, whether taken alone or together, or interactions with over-the-counter meds, food, or drink, until we end up in urgent care or the ER. My co-founder and I were no different—until personal events forced us to pay attention.
Jen Keane,
Co-Founder
MY MOM
My mother has MS and has long relied on multiple prescriptions. A new drug suddenly triggered severe colitis flare-ups, sending her to the ER. We suspected the new medication, but couldn’t identify the cause. We tried changing her diet, switching meds, and consulting specialists. Nothing worked. Eventually, we discovered the issue: one of her medications conflicted with grapefruit juice, which she drank daily. No one, including doctors, pharmacists, or printed documentation, had flagged it.
MY CO-FOUNDER, AL
After a Zoom call, Al passed out and was rushed to the ER. Tests ruled out a stroke or other issues. While in the ER, he called to cancel oral surgery scheduled for the next day. He told his endodontist about the two pain meds he was taking, prescribed by different doctors. The endodontist immediately caught it: the combination had dangerously lowered his heart rate. This happened even though the prescribing physicians and the hospital were using the latest EHR software to detect medication conflicts.
WHY RX/PMI?
THE PROBLEM WITH CURRENT
PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION INFORMATION (“PMI”)

No real-time answers for patients on medication regarding conflicts or interactions. Some PMI documents haven’t been updated since drug approval.

Fewer than 35% of patients receive a pharmacist briefing or read PMI documents. Fewer than 10% on refills.

Over 51% of US patients use TeleMed and online pharmacies. These prescriptions generally
do not appear in traditional EHR records.

Medication conflicts cost hospitals an average of $25 billion per year. 36% are under age 18. Its 85% for 60 and over.
THE PROCESS
HOW WE FIX THE PROBLEM
Our goal is to include RX/PMI with every prescription – giving patients instant, real-time, confidential answers about their medication, possible interactions, and reactions, just by asking Cathy.

Sends an image of the prescription to the patient with Cathy, a real-time voice AI agent attached, initiates dialogue with the patient and provides a confidential source of information on medication conflict, interactions, and reactions.

Cathy analyzes patient responses and provides prescribers with instant prescription medication conflict detection in seven categories.

Creates the first real-time updating database for prescription medication reactions and conflicts, providing information to healthcare providers, drug makers, and the FDA.
